Packaging hot melt by line and duty

The right grade comes down to how fast your line runs and what the closure has to survive. Tell us both.

Case and carton sealing

General and high-speed sealing of cases, cartons and folding boxes, including slightly waxed board. EVA and metallocene options.

Low-temperature, fast set

Metallocene grades that run cooler — less charring and less energy — and set fast. A partly bio-based option is available.

Hot-fill and high machine speed

Very short set time and high heat resistance for warm-filled goods and the fastest lines.

Trays, outer cartons and economy

Lower-viscosity grades that go on thinner — more closures per kilo — for tray forming, outer cartons and economy lines.

Straight answer

The straight answer on packaging hot melts

Where it earns its place, and where we will point you to something else.

Where it wins

  • EVA, polyolefin and metallocene in one range — matched to line speed and board.
  • Low-temperature grades that cut charring and energy use.
  • Lower-viscosity options that apply thinner, for more closures per kilo.

When we’ll point you elsewhere

  • Deep-freeze closures, peelable seals and security-bag adhesives are not part of this range. We would rather tell you now.
  • Binding books or catalogues? Go to Bookbinding adhesives.
  • Labels lifting on film or PET? Check the substrate with a dyne pen before changing adhesive — then talk to us.
Documentation

The paperwork comes with it

Technical and safety data sheets, a certificate of analysis on every lot, and the declarations your quality team will ask for — sent without you having to chase them. Figures shown on this site are a starting point for sampling; the current TDS and CoA govern.

FAQ

Packaging hot melts questions, answered

Not here? Send it to us — a line or two is enough.
Which hot melt do I need for case sealing?

For most case and carton sealing, a metallocene or EVA grade around 1,500–2,100 mPa·s at 160 °C. Tell us your line speed and storage temperature and we will match it.

Can I run my hot melt at a lower temperature?

Yes. Low-temperature metallocene grades apply at 130–150 °C with a fast set. Lower temperature means less charring and lower energy use.

EVA or metallocene hot melt?

Both are in this range. Our low-temperature fast-set grades are metallocene; EVA grades cover sealing, trays, straws and wraps. Tell us your line and we will recommend one.

Do you have a hot melt for straw attachment?

Yes, both EVA and metallocene grades are used for straw attachment.
