Fischer-Tropsch (GTL) waxes

More heat resistance without paying for it in viscosity. Very hard, very pure, and consistent lot to lot.

Hard FT wax matched to your process

The same family of hard, linear waxes does very different jobs. Here is where each melting window earns its place.

Hot melt adhesives

Raises heat resistance and sharpens set speed while keeping melt viscosity low, so the adhesive goes on thinner. A lower-carbon grade is available for packaging lines.

Used in

PVC and polymer processing

External lubrication for rigid PVC and CPVC: longer fusion time, lower fusion torque, longer stability time. Also used in injection moulding and rubber extrusion.

Congealing

Drop point
88–117 °C

Inks, paints and coatings

Hard wax for rub resistance, gloss and slip in the finished film. For powder, can, wood and automotive coatings, take the micronized form.

Congealing
80–108 °C
Penetration

Used in

Asphalt and roofing

Lets asphalt mix and pave at lower temperatures, with better compaction and more resistance to deformation. Also adds durability to bituminous roofing and waterproofing.

EPS bead lubrication

A heavy-metal-free alternative to stearates for expandable polystyrene: freer-flowing beads in storage and expansion, cleaner mould release.

Straight answer

The straight answer on FT wax

Where it earns its place, and where we will point you to something else.

Where it wins

  • Highest melting point with the lowest melt viscosity of any wax we carry.
  • Sulphur- and aromatics-free; not classified as MOSH/MOAH.
  • Synthetic, so properties hold steady from lot to lot.

Documentation

The paperwork comes with it

Technical and safety data sheets, a certificate of analysis on every lot, and the declarations your quality team will ask for — sent without you having to chase them. Figures shown on this site are a starting point for sampling; the current TDS and CoA govern.

FAQ

FT wax questions, answered

Not here? Send it to us — a line or two is enough.
What is GTL Fischer-Tropsch wax?

A synthetic hard wax made from natural gas rather than crude oil. You get a narrow, consistent melting range and very low viscosity when molten.

Which FT wax suits a packaging hot melt?

High-melt grades, congealing 96–100 °C, are the usual choice. They add heat resistance and fast set without thickening the melt.

Is FT wax food-contact compliant?

Various grades comply with FDA and BfR food-contact regulations. The declaration for your grade comes with the documentation pack.

Do you have a lower-carbon FT wax?

Yes, a lower-carbon-footprint grade with the same properties as the high-melt standard grade, aimed at packaging and adhesive lines.
